Patient Information

Dr. Glen Atlas, a board certified anesthesiologist with over 12 years experience, and a group of select dentists, now offer dental patients the chance to receive anesthesia for dental procedures.

Dr. Atlas is an full professor, in the department of anesthesiology, at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He has produced 28 publications and has developed and patented state-of-the-art medical equipment. He has also received several research grants.

Dr. Atlas is also an adjunct member of the graduate faculty of Rutgers University Department of Biomedical Engineering.

How to schedule anesthesia for dentistry:

Patients can choose from the list of dentists on this website. After contacting the dentist, Dr. Atlas, the dentist, and the patient decide if this treatment option is appropriate for the patient. A mutually convenient date and time is also chosen.

Naturally, preexisting medical conditions may affect the how anesthesia will effect the patient. Dr. Atlas works closely with any other physicians the patient may have to deliver “optimum anesthesia.”

Patients receive “conscious sedation” or “twilight sleep.” Patients have little, if any, recall of the dental procedure. All patients have been delighted with “waking up” and having their dental procedure over.

Pediatric

Dr. Atlas can administer intravenous (IV) sedation, for dentistry, to children 5 years of age and older.

Special Needs Patients

Intravenous (IV) sedation, for dentistry, can be administered to mentally and physically challenged patients on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Dr. Atlas for details.
